Piece of the Week: Sorellina’s ‘Cassette Tape’ Pendant
The nostalgic “Cassette Tape” pendant features a spool of diamonds that “rewind” or “fast-forward” with the “Cassette Key Pencil” pendant.
Sorellina’s “Playlist” suite features a “Playlist” necklace with a “Cassette Tape” pendant and a “Cassette Key Pencil” pendant that moves the tape’s golden spool.
Gone are the days of manually rewinding cassette tapes to hear that favorite song one more time, but Sorellina’s “Playlist” three-piece suite is bringing the memory back.
The 18-karat yellow gold “Cassette Tape” pendant features a golden spool of diamonds, totaling 1.01 carats encased in 40.04-carats of white sapphire.
The corresponding “Cassette Key Pencil” pendant made of 18-karat yellow gold with diamonds totaling 0.37 carats and a 0.68-carat pink opal eraser unlocks the nostalgia in this set.
Once you place the tip of the pencil into the star-shaped hole on the cassette, you can “rewind” or “fast-forward” the golden spool, just like a real cassette tape.

The pendants hang on the 18-karat yellow gold “Playlist” necklace, which features custom-cut rock crystal totaling 20.37 carats and white topaz totaling 3.53 carats cut into the “stop,” “pause,” play,” “rewind,” and “fast-forward” buttons found on a Walkman.
“We created our new Cassette Tape necklace to capture the magic and nostalgia of our youth, curating special playlists for friends and loved ones,” said Nicole Carosella, Sorellina’s co-founder and designer.
“Our entire Playlist collection is designed to spark joy and evoke cherished memories.”
The Playlist necklace is part of Sorellina’s “Playlist – Among the Stardust” collection, inspired by David Bowie and the 70s glam rock movement.
This June, the necklace won a Couture Design Award in the “Best in Innovative” category.
