Piece of the Week: Lalaounis’ Good Luck Charm for 2024
The brand drew inspiration for its sweet “Golden Deer” from the goddess Artemis’ Ceryneian hind.

Greek jewelry brand Lalaounis has debuted its good luck charm for the year ahead, an animal sacred to the goddess Artemis—the deer.
Seen as a symbol of nature’s rebirth and associated with freedom, strength, and grace, the deer seems a fitting figure for a year that will continue to challenge us to bring forth our best selves.
For its 18-karat “Golden Deer,” Lalaounis found inspiration in Artemis’ mythological Ceryneian deer, known for its golden antlers, bronze hooves, and massive size.
The Ceryneian was a female deer said to be larger than a bull and was a fitting pet for Artemis, goddess of the hunt as well as the wilderness, wild animals, and nature.
Lalaounis’ Golden Deer pendant is sold by itself, on a cord, or on strands of gemstone beads including labradorite, sodalite, and garnet.
Sales of the Good Luck Charm 2024 will go to support the work of the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature (HSPN), the oldest national environmental NGO in Greece.
The HSPN works to establish national parks, protect habitats and threatened species of fauna and flora, implement environmental legislation, and inform the public.
The Golden Deer pendant featured as our Piece of the Week is 18-karat gold with jade and a halo of tsavorite garnets ($1,750). Surrounding the deer are the Roman numerals MMXXIV, 2024.
