Piece of the Week: Foundrae’s Chain
A closer look at the bold links reveals a subtle, surprising detail.

Be it a simple hoop earring, a bangle, or a chain, a successful reimagining of the most classic staples comes down to the details.
The details are exactly where Foundrae’s new “Strong Hearts” chains shine. A close look at the links reveals a heart at each end.
Foundrae founder and designer Beth Hutchens came up with the design while playing with Play-Doh with her daughter.
Rolling out the thin cylinders sparked the idea, which led to sketches of long tubes and elongated hearts.
The interlocking heart links are a secret nod to love, not just romantic love but also the familial, as well as the love between friends.
After a long process of formulation and with patent pending, Foundrae introduced the Strong Hearts collection this fall.
“I like that the hearts are not really noticeable,” Hutchens said. “They are more like a secret you keep in your pocket, like the love notes your mom left in your lunch bag or the romantic message tucked into a bouquet.”
Available as necklaces and bracelets, this “Piece of the Week” selection is the oversized version of the Strong Hearts necklace.
It’s crafted in 18-karat yellow gold and available via Foundrae.com for $39,200.
