Malakan Acquires Bellataire Diamond Brand
The natural diamonds are now available exclusively through the manufacturer.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Bellataire was previously owned by Lazar Kaplan International Inc.
According to a spokesperson for Malakan, the company will keep Bellataire’s Belgium office and Ohio plant, and Malakan will absorb all Bellataire employees.
Bellataire stones are natural diamonds that undergo a proprietary high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) process to improve their color.
Every diamond larger than 3/4 carat is accompanied by a full GIA grading report, according to the company, and are laser-inscribed for authenticity and identification.
Malakan will now be able to offer its retailers round Bellataire diamonds as well as shapes like ovals, hearts, and emerald cuts, in both colorless and fancy colors.
Family-owned and operated since 1938, Malakan is a diamond house with full manufacturing capabilities and also offers a line of finished jewelry and CAD-CAM design capabilities.
Editor’s note: This article was updated on July 15 to reflect information sent post-publication, such as terms of the deal and the future of Bellataire’s team.
