Sotheby’s Opens ‘The Emporium’ Retail Store in New York
The company celebrated its debut by collaborating with beauty entrepreneur Gucci Westman for a special edit of luxury items.

The Emporium offers art, design, and luxury items for immediate purchase, serving as an extension of the company’s Buy Now online marketplace of more than 5,000 authenticated items at various price points.
Both will be curated by “a revolving group of tastemakers and influencers,” Sotheby’s said, starting with Gucci Westman, American makeup artist and founder of clean beauty brand Westman Atelier.
Highlights of her jewelry edit include a citrine, ruby, and gold Buccellati ring ($16,685); a diamond, emerald, and tsavorite garnet Poire Ricci ring from Sotheby’s Diamonds ($55,000); and the diamond and enamel ring from David Webb pictured below ($35,300).
“From a pair of Art Nouveau Gooseneck desk lamps by Loetz to a late 20th-century Signe Perrson-Melin glazed bowl and a contemporary gold, platinum and diamond David Webb necklace, my selections embody my passion for timeless investment pieces with a story to tell,” Westman said.
“Not to mention the element of discovery—what better way to encounter a new artist or delve into the world of interiors than through Sotheby’s unique lens?”
Shoppers can peruse Westman’s edit in the New York Emporium at 1334 York Ave. or on the Buy Now website through June 10.
The Emporium will also serve as a space for special collaborations, like luxury fashion house Loewe’s new series of decorative objects, Loewe Weaves, for sale at both the store and the website this month.
“Over the past year, we’ve seen enormous growth and transformation within the luxury landscape, as evidenced by the success of online auctions and the response to our Buy Now e-commerce platform,” said Josh Pullan, Sotheby’s Head of Global Luxury Division.
“Our newest retail venture in New York, The Emporium, presents a rich assortment of luxury lifestyle goods and fine art that clients can enjoy in person every day and buy instantly.”
