Casato Gets Colorful with Holiday Jewels
At the Vicenzaoro jewelry trade show, the Italian brand introduced colored gemstones like tanzanite and pink sapphires to some of its best-selling collections.

Vicenza, Italy—At the Vicenzaoro jewelry trade show, Casato introduced colored gemstones to some of its best-selling collections.
The Yasmeen range—which has traditionally used 18-karat gold and white or champagne diamonds to depict swirling, curving lines reminiscent of vines—introduced two new spirited color ways.
One brought shades of blue into the mix, courtesy of blue sapphires, tanzanite and aquamarine alongside diamonds in 18-karat white gold settings, while the other told a warmer story in 18-karat rose gold with pink sapphires, rubellite and diamond accents.
The color addition helped to further translate the line’s natural inspiration, with oval aquamarine and rubellite bringing to mind budding flowers, surrounded by pear-shaped tanzanite and pink sapphire “leaves.”
The “Vie en Rose” collection also evolved from neutral to colorful. The glamorous range of chokers, cascading chandelier earrings and rings, in which round diamonds are set into marquise metalwork, also incorporated tanzanite and pink sapphires in its first foray into colored gemstones.
Casato made clear its love for white diamonds, however, incorporating them into every colored gemstone piece of both aforementioned collections.
The “Maureen” collection, introduced at Baselworld this year, was also on view for Vicenzaoro’s buyers and press.
Featuring rows of round white diamonds set in minimal 18-karat white gold metalwork, it gives the illusion that the wearer is literally dripping in diamonds. The design was featured in trendy chokers, rings and cuffs.
