Atelier Munsteiner Makes a Rare Visit to the US
Design team and creators Jutta and Tom Munsteiner will be at New York City’s Aaron Faber Gallery through June 28.

New York--Atelier Munsteiner is well known for its innovative gem carving and jewelry design, and one New York shop is providing the opportunity to meet with the minds behind the brand.
Now through Thursday, Tom and Jutta Munsteiner--the design team and makers of the brand--will be at the Aaron Faber Gallery, alongside their pieces.
The Munsteiners feature two generations of gem and jewelry artists creating award-winning pieces, including jewels that have earned them AGTA Spectrum awards.
Bernd Munsteiner, a world-renowned artist, was born into a family of traditional gem cutters in Germany but eventually revolutionized the family business. He approaches gems with a sculptor’s mind, treating them as an art medium with optical properties that can be expressed through carving to exemplify their form, light and expression.
Bernd Munsteiner’s new methods opened the door for the start of gem sculpting, a creative field that his son, Tom, still carries on, with an influence from contemporary architecture, sculpture and his understanding of the crystal properties of gems.
Jutta Munsteiner, Tom’s wife and partner, is a master goldsmith and award-winning designer.
The artists work both independently and collaboratively in the Munsteiner studio to create their collection of one-of-a-kind jewels, a number of which are carried by the Aaron Faber Gallery.
The gallery and retailer focuses on three design areas: contemporary studio jewelry, classic jewelry both new and antique, and collectible vintage timepieces.
