Piece of the Week: Alex Soldier’s “Fine Lace” Ring
We have to give a little more love to rubies, as this is the last Piece of the Week for the month of July.

New York--We have to give a little more love to rubies, as this is the last Piece of the Week for the month of July.
Russian-born jewelry designer Alex Soldier moved to the United States in 1990 and has become known for his one-of-a-kind, imaginative works, like his line of snail-inspired jewelry created to remind its wearer to slow down and enjoy life.
He works in platinum and 18-karat gold, hand-making his jewelry in New York City and selling it at his boutique in Times Square, Neiman Marcus and select stores nationwide.
The designer’s limited-edition “Fine Lace” ring, inspired by the fabric of the same name, is 18-karat rose gold interwoven with rubies--the birthstone for the month of July--black diamonds and white diamonds.
The ring has 126 rubies weighing a total of 12.05 carats, 78 black diamonds totaling 6.35 carats and six white diamonds totaling 0.4 carats.
It retails for $25,000.
