Piece of the Week: Faidee’s ‘The Grand Phoenix’
Faidee displayed this unheated Burmese ruby necklace valued at $35 million at this year’s Baselworld show.

Since the United States lifted its ban last year, Burmese rubies have been a hot topic, and they just happen to be jewelry company Faidee’s specialty.
Since Faidee’s inception in the early 1900s, the brand has dealt exclusively in Burmese rubies.
“The Grand Phoenix” features 24 exceptional pigeon’s blood rubies, each ranging in weight from 1 to 6 carats for a total of 59.83 carats, plus 100.21 carats of D-color flawless and internally flawless diamonds.
Debuted to the public at the just-concluded Baselworld trade show, “The Grand Phoenix” necklace is the fruit of Faidee’s illustrious history. The rubies featured have been gathered under the direction of each of the company’s four generations; it’s a piece nearly 100 years in the making.
It’s valued at $35 million.
It will be on view this August in Monte Carlo at the Hotel Hermitage, Salon Belle Epoque, presented by luxury retail jeweler Stardust Monte Carlo.
