Piece of the Week: Leon Megé’s Royal Turban Ring
In a new feature, National Jeweler editors spotlight the latest jewel to catch their collective attention.

New York--Ah, the perks of being a jewelry editor.
In our line of work, we come across quite a few shiny, pretty things, and we’ve decided to put an extra effort in sharing the baubles we can’t get enough of.
For our very first “Piece of the Week,” we’ve chosen Leon Megé’s “Royal Turban Ring.”
It features a breathtaking 1.96-carat Kashmir sapphire sugarloaf cabochon, set in platinum and bedecked with 1.38 carats of full-cut diamonds and 1.01 carats of single-cut diamonds.
“Since Kashmir sapphires are so rare and are associated historically with the height of the golden age of India, its wealth and power, I wanted to create a piece that has a Mughal motif,” said Megé. “Hence the diamond fabric wrapped around the stone and the Mughal-style gallery underneath.”
The Royal Turban ring retails for $55,000 and is available at LeonMegé.com.
