Jewelry designer and lapidary Pamela Huizenga-Alexander has been involved in the industry since a young age.
Jewelry designer and lapidary Pamela Huizenga-Alexander has been involved in the industry since a young age.
After spending summers in the mountains of North Carolina and visiting gem mines, she developed a special love for the stones found in nature and learned about gemstone cutting at the age of 16.
Her pieces highlight the combination of beauty and imperfection found in gemstones, focusing on the colors, textures and shapes. While she has a special affinity for opals, Huizenga-Alexander uses a wide variety of gemstones in her pieces, including aquamarine, tourmaline, turquoise and chrysoprase.
The Florida-based designer creates jewelry in 18- and 22-karat gold and sterling silver. Every piece is handmade and one-of-a-kind.
