‘Happier, sunnier’ colors to stand out in ‘16
Pantone’s Fashion Color Report for next spring offers both bright and calming shades that “pay homage to the beauty of natural resources.”
They are: Rose Quartz, Peach Echo, Serenity, Snorkel Blue, Buttercup, Limpet Shell, Lilac Gray, Fiesta, Iced Coffee and Green Flash.
Rose Quartz, Peach Echo, Limpet Shell, Lilac Gray and Iced Coffee are new colors, introduced as part of the 210 shades Pantone recently added to its fashion, home and interiors color system.
“The color palettes of this season transport us to a happier, sunnier place where we feel free to express a wittier version of our real selves,” Pantone Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman said.
Pantone’s Fashion Color Reports are released twice a year, in February and September. Their release coincides with New York Fashion Week, as the hues are pulled from the runways and designers’ upcoming collections. The color institute typically announces the “color of the year” for the coming year in December; for 2015 it is the wine-red hue Marsala.
The shades that are in style for fall 2015 can be seen here.
“Influenced by the world of art, new global doors opening and the desire to disconnect from technology and unwind, designers this season have gravitated toward a palette that is first and foremost calming, and paus homage to the beauty that of natural resources,” Pantone said.
