Live from Couture: New from Gemfields

Las Vegas--Gemfields debuted its newest pieces from partnerships with various designers at the Couture show, as well as its limited-edition collection with fine jewelry brand Marina B.
Marina B’s new 15-piece collection features rings, necklaces and earrings boasting the colored gemstone miner’s Zambian emeralds, pioneered by Marina B Creative Director Omar Torres.
“We’re redefining the (jewelry-making) process to say that luxury can be exciting,” Torres told National Jeweler. “When it comes to expensive jewelry with extraordinary stones, designers tend to be conservative. We’re saying the jewelry has to be as extraordinary as the stones, but has to be wearable and express today’s aesthetic. We’re trying to make a statement as how to move jewelry forward.
“These emeralds have a heritage and style that helps women to express themselves in an extraordinary way. We’re making jewelry exciting, not just expensive. That’s our point of view.”
The Gemfields Emeralds by Marina B collection currently is available at the Marina B flagship in New York. All prices given are retail prices.
Other designers debuting pieces with Gemfields at the Couture show included Aida Bergsen, Diamond Envy, Jemma Wynne, Shaun Leane and Zaiken.
