Live from Couture: Astley Clarke
London-based fine jewelry brand Astley Clarke showcased pieces from its Fao and Muse collections in 18- and 14-karat gold with semi-precious gemstones and diamonds.
In 2009, the brand brought Lorna Watson on as its creative director, an industry veteran who previously worked as the senior design coordinator at Fabergé and as a design consultant at De Beers.
Watson developed Astley Clarke as its own fine jewelry brand, which is now 90 percent of the entire business; the website primarily sells Astley Clarke jewelry and features “guest designers,” including Anne Sportun, Shaun Leane and Carolina Bucci.
In addition, Astley Clarke jewelry now is sold at its own boutique in London, Saks Fifth Avenue in the United States, as well as in independent stores in both the U.S. and U.K.
“(Astley Clarke) is the place to go for fine jewelry in the U.K.,” Fran Cookson, the company’s public relations and marketing manager told National Jeweler at the show.
The brand offers a contemporary entry collection, “Biography in Color,” comprised of 18-karat gold-plated sterling silver pieces with diamonds and woven thread, as well as various fine jewelry collections made in 18- and 14-karat gold with gemstones and diamonds.
