British jewelers select their designer of the year
The British Jewellers’ Association (BJA) named Andrew Geoghegan as its Designer of the Year 2013.
Birmingham, England--The British Jewellers’ Association (BJA) named Andrew Geoghegan as its Designer of the Year 2013. The award was announced at the British Allied Trade Federation’s Benevolent Ball held in Solihull, England on Dec. 5.
He moved back home after graduation to focus on his technique and design his own jewelry. The Andrew Geoghegan brand was founded in 1998 and now features a bridal and cocktail collection, with a strong focus on rings.
“It’s an incredible achievement and naturally my team and I are ecstatic. 2013 has been another remarkable year for AG. I continue to design and create with the same intense passion and boundless energy with which I started,” Geoghegan said.
“My aim has always been to create mesmerizing designs at the very height of opulence and luxury, essentially putting my all into every piece and creating something that helps people to express their love. It’s hugely exciting times for AG at the moment as we look to begin exporting next year, making our international debut in Munich.”
Others who were considered for the BJA Designer of the Year award include Jessica Flinn Designs, Babette Wasserman, Lucy Quartermaine, Deakin and Francis, and Charmian Beaton Design.
