From Basel: 5 New Watches from Tudor
An editor favorite was the Black Bay Fifty-Eight, created as a tribute to the brand’s first 200-meter dive watch.
With its small size and vintage details, the new Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight pays homage to the brand’s first dive watch, which came out in 1958.
Basel--Tudor rolled out a vintage-style dive watch at Baselworld as well as a new GMT with a bi-color bezel, just as sister company Rolex did.
An editor favorite at the show, the Black Bay Fifty-Eight is small (39 mm) and thin (the movement is 4.99 mm thick) for a dive watch and has a vintage look—with good reason.
Tudor created the Fifty-Eight as a homage to the first dive watch it created that was waterproof to 200 meters, the Ref. 7924, which came out in 1958.
Its size as well as its large crown (the Ref. 7924 was nicknamed the “Big Crown”) and the red triangle on the bezel are both components of the original design, though the updated version is powered by a new movement.
The MT5402 is part of the second generation of in-house movements for Tudor. It is COSC-certified and has a 70-hour power reserve.
The Black Bay Fifty-Eight is available on a bracelet ($3,575) or leather or nato strap ($3,250).

The new 1926 line is named after the year Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf registered “The Tudor” as a brand. It is a unisex line with a variety of dial (silver, opaline or black, with or without diamonds), bracelet (stainless steel or stainless steel and rose gold) and size options (28, 36, 39 and 41 mm). The three largest models are powered by the ETA2824 movement while the 28 mm watch is powered by the 2671.

The Black Bay S&G is the first in Tudor’s dive watch line to incorporate yellow gold alongside stainless steel. The S&G is powered by the in-house MT5612 movement (70-hour power reserve, COSC certified) and has a date window, which is also new for Black Bay.
It is priced at $4,795 on a bracelet and $3775 on a fabric or aged leather strap.

The 41 mm Black Bay GMT is, like the Black Bay Fifty-Eight, powered by one of Tudor’s new in-house movements. The MT5652 is COSC certified and has a 70-hour power reserve.

Tudor also introduced its smallest Black Bay yet, a 32 mm watch powered by the caliber 2824 movement, with a 38-hour power reserve. It is available with a black or blue dial on a steel bracelet ($2,750), brown leather or black fabric strap (both $2,425).
