Movado watches commemorate Yankee captain
Movado has launched a collection of special-edition watches that celebrate brand ambassador and baseball star Derek Jeter, who will retire from the sport at the end of this year’s season.
Called the Captain Series, the three watches were designed in collaboration with Jeter and commemorate the end of his 20-season Major League Baseball career, all of which was spent with the New York Yankees.
Each stainless steel watch in the series features a “2” in the 2 o’clock position, representing Jeter’s number, while the rest of the positions are line indices. All three models also share a special case back design, and are sold in specially designed packaging featuring a Captain Series seal.
The collection begins at $695 retail, with the most expensive watch priced at $795.
“The Captain Series has been a wonderful was to celebrate our long-standing partnership with Derek … We are honored to commemorate his outstanding baseball career and legacy with this watch collection and wanted Derek’s fans to share in the excitement of his final major league season through these exciting timepieces,” said Movado Group Chairman and CEO Efraim Grinberg.
