Basel--Tissot debuted what it says is the world’s first touch-screen watch powered by solar energy, extending its line of tactile watches first introduced in 1999.
The brand’s T-Touch Expert Solar and Lady Solar timepieces are powered by both outdoor and indoor light. Once fully charged, the watches will retain their power for up to a year, regardless of their exposure to light.
The 45 mm men’s watch has 25 tactile functions while the women’s watch, smaller at 39 mm, has 13. The watches are expected to hit the U.S. market between June and September.
Tissot also introduced a pair of pocket watches, noting that it sees pocket watches as a trend, with some women choosing to attach them to their handbags, as well as a number of other new timepieces.
