DEF to honor Seymour, Rocha and JFC
Jane Seymour, David Rocha and the organization he leads, Jewelers for Children, are the recipients of the Diamond Empowerment Fund’s 2015 Good Awards, which recognize individuals for their leadership and impact on youth and communities around the world.
The annual Good Awards event is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 8 at the Empire Penthouse Lounge in New York.
Established in 2012, DEF created the Good Awards to recognize individuals, organizations and corporations in the diamond and jewelry industry for outstanding leadership in the areas of global good corporate citizenship, sustainability and promoting opportunity in diamond communities.
Seymour is an Emmy- and Golden Globe award-winning actress for her role on Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, among other performances. She is known in the jewelry industry for her “Open Hearts” collection sold at Signet Jewelers Ltd.-owned Kay Jewelers, and also is the co-founder of the Open Hearts Foundation, which aims to positively impact lives in the areas of health, education, arts and sports.
For the past decade, Rocha has led JFC, an industry charity with the mission of helping children in need. Since its founding in 1999, more than $45 million has been donated to organizations including Make-A-Wish and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, as well as relief efforts following Hurricane Katrina and the 2011 earthquake in Japan.
Information on tickets as well as advertising and sponsorship opportunities for the Good Awards can be found on the DEF website.
