Updated Blue Books Available on CIBJO Website
The latest editions of the books providing grading standards and nomenclature across a number of categories can now be downloaded.
Milan--CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation, has made the latest editions of all six of its Blue Books available for download.
CIBJO Blue Books provide a set of grading standards and nomenclature for diamonds, colored gemstones, pearls, coral, precious metals and gem laboratories.
They are compiled and consistently reviewed and updated by relevant commissions within the organization whose members include representatives of trade organizations and laboratories active in the industry.
For individuals who do not belong to a CIBJO-member organization, each download will cost approximately $10. All six Blue Books also can be downloaded as a single package at a discounted rate of approximately $50.
To download the new versions, visit CIBJO.org.
Those who are members of an organization that belongs to CIBJO can receive the books free of charge by contacting the organization of which they are a part to arrange delivery by email.
“The Blue Books are living documents, which are designed to facilitate a common language and benchmarks for members of our industry, irrespective of where they are located,” CIBJO President Gaetano Cavalieri said. “We update them from year to year, to reflect changing circumstances, new discoveries and developing technologies.”
