Gemesis names Lisa Bissell as president, CEO
Lisa Bissell has been named president and CEO of lab-grown diamond company Gemesis Inc., effective immediately.

Her appointment “represents the company’s vision to set new benchmarks for the grown diamond industry,” Gemesis said, adding that she is committed to promoting transparency within the synthetic diamond industry and is recognized for her business ethics and fair practices.
In her professional career, which includes 19 years with diamond wholesaler M. Fabrikant & Sons, Bissell has developed proprietary brands for manufacturers and worked with jewelry designers to offer consumers dynamic and unique new products. Her customers have included warehouse clubs, national and regional department stores and mid-sized chains.
Bissell said she intends to create a team that can best represent Gemesis' product to the industry, with an aim on benefitting the consumer.
“(Bissell’s) outstanding record of accomplishments in the diamond industry and her highly-regarded understanding of markets and customers will help Gemesis to become an industry leader in the grown diamond business,” Gemesis promoter Suraj Mehta said.
Gemesis said Mehta, who founded the company in 2013, was serving as president and had been looking for the "right person" to fill the role of CEO.
