Fischler re-elected as AWDC president
Stéphane Fischler has been re-elected as president of the Antwerp World Diamond Centre.
Antwerp--Stéphane Fischler has been re-elected as president of the Antwerp World Diamond Centre.
He is a partner at Fischler Diamonds, the treasurer of the International Diamond Manufacturers Association and vice president of the Syndicate of the Belgian Diamond Industry, as well as a board member of the World Diamond Council, the Diamond & Jewellery Management Institute Antwerp and the Diamond Development Initiative.
“Over the past two years Stéphane Fischler has proven to be a skillful leader of our board of directors,” AWDC CEO Ari Epstein said. “He is highly respected and well known for his dedication toward the Antwerp diamond community and beyond.”
Fischler was re-elected by the AWDC’s board members, who also appointed Kaushik Mehta, co-founder of Eurostar Diamond Traders, as vice president representing the trade, and Freddy Inzlicht as vice president representing the bourses.
Inzlicht also was nominated as a representative, in addition to Jacques Korn and first-time board member Thierry Polakiewicz.
The remaining board members--Kaushik Mehta, Santosh Kedia, Shailesh Javeri, Samir Mehta and Jacques Weisz--were elected as trade representatives through direct elections in 2012 and remain in their positions for another two years.
