Diamond grower produces 3-carat white stone
Pure Grown Diamonds, the company formerly known as Gemesis, has broken yet another carat barrier in the creation of white, or colorless, diamonds.

New York--Pure Grown Diamonds, the company formerly known as Gemesis, has broken yet another carat barrier in the creation of white, or colorless, diamonds.
The company announced this week that it has grown a 3.04-carat diamond in late November using the chemical vapor deposition, or CVD, process for growing diamonds. Graded by the International Gemological Institute, the round diamond is I color, SI1 clarity and very good cut. It is priced at $23,012.
Pure Grown Diamonds launched its e-commerce website, PureGrownDiamonds.com, this month and, according to a news release on the 3.04-carat diamond, a number of independent jewelers are carrying the company’s lab-grown diamonds now.
The release lists a total of 30 retailers as carrying Pure Grown Diamonds, and noted that the company also has a showroom in New York with Diamonds by Israel Standard and a showroom in North Palm Beach, Fla. at Wilson’s Jewelers.
