Report: Alex and Ani President Steps Down
According to an internal communication from the brand sent to a local news outlet, Harlan Kent resigned Friday after slightly less than a year with the jewelry company.
Cranston, R.I.--Harlan Kent, who was appointed president of Rhode Island-based jewelry company Alex and Ani in April 2015, has stepped down, a local news source reported late last week.
GoLocalProv.com, a digital news source covering the Providence, R.I. area, said on Friday that it had received an internal communication from the jewelry brand saying it was looking for a chief operating officer to replace Kent.
Alex and Ani did not reply to National Jeweler’s request for comment on the report by press time.
Kent, whose appointment was announced last March, is the former CEO of Yankee Candle and C. Wonder, an apparel retailer.
Before Kent’s hire as president, Carolyn Rafaelian, who founded Alex and Ani in 2003, had been serving as interim CEO following former CEO Giovanni Feroce’s departure in March 2014.
