Pac Team opens first US factory
Located in Chicago, the Swiss company’s new facility will help its North American customers with a need for custom projects and on-site support as well as those working on short timelines.
Lausanne, Switzerland--Pac Team Group, a display, packaging and fixture company headquartered in Switzerland, has opened its first U.S. production facility.
It is located in Chicago and, the company said, will help North American customers with a need for custom projects and on-site support as well as those working on short timelines.
This is Pac Team’s third production facility, with the others located in Dongguan, China and Turin, Italy. The Lausanne-based company also has offices in Paramus, N.J; Senago, Italy; and Hong Kong.
Pac Team offers point-of-sale pieces to watchmakers and other purveyors of fashion and luxury goods, such as displays, packaging, shop-in-shops, retail fixtures and exhibition stands.
The company’s clients include Audemars Piguet, Bell & Ross, Patek Philippe, Bulgari, Forevermark and David Yurman, among many others in the fine jewelry and watch industries.
The company said that in order to provide its U.S. clients with the same level of quality achieved at its other manufacturing locations, it arranged for its top European craftsmen to conduct intensive training in Chicago, from furniture fabrication techniques to high-end fabric wrapping.
“This exciting addition allows our group to provide our customers an even more comprehensive production strategy than ever before,” said Pac Team President Eric Zuckerman. “By offering a North American alternative to our overseas manufacturing, we are able to better meet the various challenges our customers face, such as unique custom projects, short timelines and the need for on-site support.”
Pac Team said Chicago was chosen for the company’s U.S. production facility because of its lower manufacturing costs, relative to the New York metropolitan area, as well as its central location.
