New York--The Jewelers Vigilance Committee presented the 2015 Stanley Schechter Award to David Bouffard, the vice president of corporate affairs for Signet Jewelers Ltd.
Presented Jan. 9 at the JVC’s annual luncheon at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York, the award recognizes industry players for their leadership, integrity and passion for elevating the reputation and success of the jewelry industry in the United States and worldwide.
JVC established the award in 2002 in honor of Honora founder and industry leader Stanley Schechter, who died unexpectedly in December 2000.
Bouffard began his career in Signet’s Sterling Jewelers division more than 33 years ago. Today, in his role as the vice president of corporate affairs, he is responsible for developing and implementing the company’s corporate social responsibility and sustainability initiatives, handling government and industry relations and working on corporate giving initiatives.
Bouffard accepted the award with this wife Barbara and daughter Amanda by his side.
JVC CEO President and General Counsel Cecilia Gardner said, “David’s commitment to the continuous improvement of our industry to foster confidence in our products and the companies that sell them is indefatigable. His partnership with the JVC to further our mission and goals indicates the importance that Signet places on the promotion of integrity through legal compliance.”
