The Ethical Gem Fair Is Going to California
The fair will take place on the West Coast for the first time, hosted by Altana Fine Jewelry in Oakland, California.

Scheduled for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., it will be hosted by Altana Fine Jewelry, a jewelry store that spotlights small artists who have traditionally been underrepresented in the jewelry industry.
The store is located at 4206 Piedmont Ave. in Oakland.
Attendees will be able to view a curated selection of responsibly sourced gemstones from brands within the Ethical Gem Suppliers collective.
The suppliers include Agere Treasures, Capricorn Gems, Columbia Gem House, Nature’s Geometry, and Perpetuum Jewels.
“Chat and Chill,” a social event hosted by the NorCal chapter of the Women’s Jewelry Association, will take place on Sept. 21 from 5-7 p.m. and will include light refreshments.
Making its U.S. debut in Tucson in 2020, the Ethical Gem Fair also has been held in Denver and New York City.
The Ethical Gem Suppliers collective has scheduled future shows for Oct. 18-20 in New York City and Feb. 1-4, 2025, in Tucson.
The fair is free to attend but open only to trade professionals.
Attendees must fill out a separate registration including their trade credentials if they plan to purchase gemstones at the fair.
For more information and to register for the Ethical Gem Fair, visit the Ethical Gem Suppliers website.
The WJA NorCal Chat and Chill is a free event open to both WJA members and non-members. It requires separate registration from the fair, which can be found on WJA’s website.
