Marvel Debuts Gem-Set Infinity Gauntlet
East Continental Gems provided more than 150 carats of gemstones for the project.

Marvel teamed up with New York-based East Continental Gems to debut the “Infinity Collection of Gemstones,” showing them off by setting the stones into a gauntlet (armored glove) toymaker Gentle Giant created.
Los Angeles-based designer Darren Romanelli, also known as DRx, served as creative director for the collection.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Infinity Gauntlet is a gem-encrusted metal glove that imbues the wearer with incredible powers.
Made famous by the Avengers franchise, the glove was worn by Thanos to wreak havoc.
To harness its power, all six Infinity Stones have to be collected—time, space, reality, mind, power and soul. Too potent to be held in one’s hand, the stones are set into the Infinity Gauntlet.
“There has never been anything as exciting and interesting in the Marvel Universe than the prized Infinity Stones and as a fourth-generation jeweler and fan, I am honored that Marvel entrusted us with the monumental task of curating the Infinity Gem Collection for our universe,” said Adam Mirzoeff, president of East Continental Gems.
The Space stone, which can be used to teleport, is represented by a more than 30-carat sapphire from Madagascar.
The Reality stone, which lets one manipulate matter and create alternate realities, is a more than 15-carat Mozambique ruby.
The Power stone is a mysterious one, but it lets the wearer harness energy. It’s a more than 35-carat oval-shaped natural amethyst.
The Soul stone, a more than 35-carat cushion-shaped spessartite, gives control over souls, life, and death.
The Mind stone, used for mind control, is represented by a “high clarity, intense color” rectangular brilliant-cut yellow diamond nearing 35 carats.
Though the real-life Infinity Gauntlet doesn’t possess any magical abilities, it is worth an estimated $25 million, weighing in at more than 150 carats.
The blinged-out glove debuted at the Marvel booth at San Diego Comic Con last week, introduced by FUBU CEO and “Shark Tank” star Daymond John.

East Continental Gems will also debut a limited-edition Reality stone, a ruby, in September as part of a future “Genesis Series” collection, set to be announced at a later date. There will be 300 rubies available.
