New NC Retailer Donates $10K to Local Charities
Crystal Jewelers celebrated opening its doors by showing support for the Greensboro community.
Greensboro, North Carolina Mayor Nancy Vaughn and city council members attended the opening ceremony of the new Crystal Jewelers, where the store donated $5,000 each to two local charities.
Greensboro, N.C.—A new independent retailer in North Carolina used its opening ceremony not only to celebrate its debut but also to give back to its community.
Crystal Jewelers Fine Jewelry opened on Valentine’s Day in Greensboro’s Wendover Village Shopping Center, hosting “The Heartbeats of Our Community” grand opening ceremony.
During the event, it gave two nonprofit social service agencies, The Servant Center and Out of the Garden Project, gifts of $5,000 each.
The Servant Center focuses on residents experiencing homelessness or disabilities, particularly veterans, through housing, healthcare, and restorative services.
The Out of the Garden Project works to eliminate food insecurity for families.
Crystal Jewelers owner Kamran Awan and business partners Mahesh Chainani and Preet Arora said they wanted to pay forward their gratitude to the community with gifts that will benefit thousands.
“This donation means that we can continue to move forward with our expansion of the Servant House,” said The Servant Center Director of Marketing and Development Leah Murray. “This is a transition living facility for homeless disabled veterans. To be part of this community, it’s an honor and we appreciate everything. Thank you for helping us serve those who served us.”
Prior to the store, owner Awan has been providing taxations and accounting solutions for various industries for the past 10 years as the founder of Accounting Solutions.
He moved from Pakistan to the U.S. in 2022, starting his career in the country as an accountant for 11 years before opening his own practice.
He eventually added more lines of business, including owning and managing eight franchise hotels, four fine dining Indian restaurants, two real estate firms, and a Vitamin Shoppe franchise before entering the luxury jewelry space.
Crystal Jewelers sells fine jewelry in its new Greensboro store as well as through its online storefront.
