The new store is situated on the mall’s ground level in the luxury wing, with neighbors like watch brands Audemars Piguet, TAG Heuer, and Breitling, as well as Cartier and Mayors Jewelers.
The company already had a store in the mall, but has moved into a new space, bigger by 700 square feet to make room for more designs in the women’s, men’s, and wedding section.
The David Yurman 57th Street flagship in New York City, a collaboration between Evan Yurman and award-winning architect Michael Gabellini, was recently redesigned to evoke an elegant, modern feel.
The Atlanta store is a continuation of that design with its rose gold and stone façade, dark stone floors, pale marble slabs, and a rose gold plaster feature wall.
The store also has a private shopping room, filled with mid-century modern furnishing inspired by the Yurman family’s personal collection.
Alongside the new store opening, the company is teaming up with The Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) to create The David Yurman Endowed Scholarship for Jewelry Design.
The scholarship will go toward a jewelry design student’s tuition in SCAD’s School of Fashion.
“David Yurman is an iconic American fine jewelry brand and serves as a source of inspiration and legacy for all of our jewelry design students,” said Jay Song, chair of SCAD’s jewelry program, in a press release about the scholarship.
“The brand’s generous donation is a tremendous gift to our program and will serve as a resource for our students to dream, design and create.”
In addition to the scholarship, David Yurman is donating $1 million worth of gemstones from the company’s private collection to the school’s jewelry program.
To celebrate the partnership, there will be an in-store event in Atlanta in the fall hosted by David Yurman and SCAD’s leadership team.
David Yurman has embarked on another charitable pursuit, renewing its annual partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation for the thirteenth year.
As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, David Yurman is adding to its collection of jewelry benefiting the foundation.
The two new styles include a 10mm Renaissance cable bracelet in aluminum and pink acrylic ($395) and a narrower cable bracelet in pink rubber ($20).
The company is donating 20 percent of sales from its breast cancer ribbon pieces, sold in-store and online, to BCRF for the entire month. All of the proceeds from the sale of the rubber bracelet will go to BCRF.
The company and BCRF have also created “The David Yurman Award” to honor an individual dedicated to breast cancer research.
The inaugural $250,000 award was given to Dr. Haley McDaid, a New York based scientist whose current research focuses on identifying new therapeutic options for triple-negative and BRCA-driven breast cancers.
