JFC to Hold Digital Lab-Grown Diamond Auction to Raise Funds

New York—Virtual Diamond Boutique and the International Gemological Institute are partnering for a digital auction to raise money for Jewelers for Children.

The event will feature more than $30,000 worth of lab-grown diamonds, ranging in size from 1 carat to more than 3 carats in a variety of shapes, as well as lab-grown diamond jewelry. 

The digital auction will take place during Las Vegas market week, with bidding running now through Sunday, Aug. 29 at 8:30 p.m., at which time the in-person JFC Facets of Hope dinner will be held. The total dollar amount raised by the auction will be announced during the event’s closing remarks.

All bids will be submitted through an app created by VDB.

IGI will provide grading reports for all pieces in the auction, as well as logistics services like storing, shopping, and sealing of loose stones.

Proceeds from the event will benefit JFC charity partners, including Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, National CASA Association, Make-A-Wish America, Make-A-Wish International, Santa-America Fund and Organization for Autism Research.

Pieces in the auction have been donated by suppliers such as: Aarush Diam, Clarity Diamond, Classic Grown Diamonds, Combine International, Fire Diamonds, Forever Grown Diamonds, Go Green Diamonds, Green Rocks Diamonds, Innovation Diamonds, Labon LLC, Maitri Diamonds Inc., Malakan Diamond Co., Primo Diamonds, Smiling Rocks, Surreal Diamond, Unique Lab Grown Diamond, and Z Diamond USA.

“We are delighted that the lab-grown diamond community has come together to benefit children. Because we were unable to hold in-person events in 2020, VDB developed a fabulous digital auction app,” said JFC Executive Director David Rocha.

“Our virtual auction event held on the app last year proved very popular, and we’re thrilled to now be able to offer this lab-grown diamond event as an option for those who may not be attending market week in Las Vegas or have other commitments at that time. This auction presents an opportunity that fits into everyone’s schedule.”
