World Diamond Congress Moves to Mumbai
It previously was scheduled to take place in Tel Aviv last month but was postponed due to poor attendance and political tensions.
Antwerp--The World Diamond Congress has been rescheduled to October and moved to Mumbai.
The congress, the biannual meeting of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses and the International Diamond Manufacturers Association, originally was scheduled for June 19 to 21 in Tel Aviv, Israel. But poor attendance and rising political tensions in the Middle East pushed organizers to postpone the conference.
The WFDB and IDMA announced June 28 the conference now will be held in Mumbai in the latter half of October.
WFDB President Ernie Blom said colleagues at India’s Bharat Diamond Bourse offered to host at the recent WFDB executive committee meeting held in Antwerp.
He said exact dates will be communicated as soon as possible, and WFDB and IDMA are asking those who might want to attend to leave their schedules open at the end of October.
