Take a Peek Inside the New Zadok Jewelers Store

The Houston jeweler recently opened a 28,000-square-foot, two-level store.

Houston—Zadok Jewelers has cut the ribbon on its new store in Houston, a massive space that marks a new chapter in the history of the 45-year-old independent retailer.

The 28,000-square-foot store opened March 25 at Post Oak Place, a multi-use project the Zadok family owns.

Sixth-generation jewelers Dror and Helene Zadok run the store alongside their sons, Jonathan, Segev and Gilad.

The two-level store, which is located next door to the former Zadok Jewelers, is more than double the size of the previous store.

“My wife Helene and I have always dreamed of leaving a legacy to our family, and we could not be more thrilled to see our new mixed-use project finally come to life,” said owner Dror Zadok in a press release announcing the opening.

“Just like the day we first opened in 1976, we want our new store to be an extension of our home by creating a warm and welcoming environment where we can provide professional and personalized assistance to our customers at a fair price.”

Designed by the Michael Hsu Office of Architecture, the space’s design features glass for the upper-level exterior and Texas limestone, a nod to its home state.

The interior walls are “a calming palette of warm wood,” complemented by Italian stone flooring. The velveteen wall coverings are paired with brass ornamentation.

“We utilized high-quality materials and detailed design elements often found in luxury residences to create a space that is soft and inviting with approachable moments of grandeur,” said Jay Colombo, partner at Michael Hsu.

The store carries more than 60 fine jewelry and luxury watch brands, including 15 shop-in-shops and four in-store watch boutiques.

Richemont-owned watch brands Jaeger-LeCoultre, IWC Schaffhausen, Vacheron Constantin and A. Lange & Söhne will be located on the main floor.

“This is one of the most important retail projects undertaken by any independent jeweler in the U.S. in the last 20 years,” said Rudy Chavez, president of A. Lange & Söhne North America.

The showroom will also house Richemont-owned Panerai’s first full bar, said Zadok Jewelers.

The shop-in-shops are: Audemars Piguet, Breguet, Breitling, Bulgari, Chopard, Grand Seiko, Hublot, Omega, Panerai, Piaget, Pomellato, Roger Dubuis, TAG Heuer, Tudor, and Ulysse Nardin.

Cartier will also have a dedicated space for its watches.

The Hublot space is the Swiss watchmaker’s largest shop-in-shop in the United States, said Zadok Jewelers, and A. Lange & Söhne and Roger Dubuis, two of several newcomers to the Zadok vendor list, are exclusive to the jeweler in the Southwest region.

On the first floor, customers will find fine jewelry and watches, the services and repairs area, and an area for watchmaking.

The second floor will include a section for fashion jewelry, a bridal shop, a CAD design studio for custom design requests, homeware, and a pop-up space, which may be used for brand or gem showcases.

Just beside the pop-up space is The Champagne Bar, an area dedicated to hosting trunk shows for a rotating list of designers and artists to display fine jewelry, clothing, and accessories. The space includes a dressing room.

Also on the second floor is the Nina Magon Studio, named after the Houston-based interior designer. In addition to being a satellite studio, it will also serve as a customer lounge and event space.

The studio will showcase a line of luxury home goods, from bespoke furniture and wall coverings to rugs, dishware, and lighting.

“My goal with the lounge is to elevate Houston to the forefront of luxury-focused and sophisticated design with a monochromatic color palette highlighting various shades of green, which represents growth, freshness and the feathers of the peacock,” said Magon.

Looking to expand its reach beyond Houston, the family also is reimagining the brand’s look with an updated e-commerce website.
