1. Former jeweler found guilty of theft, embezzlement
A jury convicted Karl Winchell, the one-time owner of Winchell Jewelry Design in La Jolla, Calif., on 10 felony counts of embezzlement and grand theft, the San Diego District Attorney’s Office said.
