Longtime jeweler Guy Rossberg dies at 67
The Green Lake, Wis. custom jeweler lost his battle with cancer earlier this summer.
Berlin, Wis.--Guy J. Rossberg, a longtime custom jeweler who owned Wisconsin Gold & Gem, died last month after battling cancer. He was 67.
Rossberg was born April 4, 1948 in Cicero, Ill.
After high school he studied theology in Miami and later continued his arts education at the American Academy of Art in Chicago and the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Ill., where he met and eventually married his late wife Donna Meyer.
Rossberg and his wife worked together as artists, silversmiths and business partners in Green Lake, Wis., opening Rossberg Studios in 1983. The business eventually evolved into the jewelry store Wisconsin Gold & Gem, a “treasure” in downtown Green Lake.
In addition to working as a custom jeweler for more than 30 years, Rossberg was the chairman of the Green Lake Fine Arts Show for 31 years, an event he and his wife hosted that will be carried on by their children.
He is survived by one son, Michael Rossberg of Green Lake; one daughter, Ali Rae Rossberg, of Green Lake; a sister, grandchildren, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna, and his parents, Raymond and Elsie Rossberg.
