JA accepting 2015 scholarship applications
Jewelers of America currently is accepting applications for its member scholarships, designed to provide education opportunities to employees at JA member stores who are at least 18 years old.
New York--Jewelers of America currently is accepting applications for its member scholarships, which are designed to provide opportunities for industry diplomas, professional development or certification programs at leading industry education providers.
Scholarships are awarded during the open enrollment period, which lasts through Sept. 30.
Applicants must be an employee at a JA member store and at least 18 years old. They also must have at least one year of experience at a JA member store or two years in the jewelry industry.
Funds are available for programs at the Gemological Institute of America, Diamond Council of America, and Jewelers Education Foundation of the American Gem Society. They also are available for Jewelers of America’s Bench Professional Certification program.
“Jewelers of America is committed to giving our members affordable, convenient opportunities for their professional development,” said Director of Public Affairs and Education Susan Posnock. “The JA scholarship fund covers up to 60 percent of fees for training at GIA and other leading industry programs and makes continuing education a realistic opportunity for employees of JA member companies.”
