24 Karat Club to honor Peter Yantzer
The Jewelers 24 Karat Club of Southern California will honor AGS Laboratories Executive Director Peter Yantzer with its inaugural Lifetime Service Award, as well as Mark Schneider and Steve Weiss with the Excellence in Service Award next month.
Southern California--The Jewelers 24 Karat Club of Southern California will honor AGS Laboratories Executive Director Peter Yantzer with its first Lifetime Service Award next month.
Yantzer established the American Gem Society Laboratories in 1995 and has helmed the lab since then. He leads the research and development team, and was instrumental in the development of the new AGS Cut Grade, which took five years of analysis and testing to establish.
AGS announced earlier this year that Yantzer is retiring from the organization in November.
“Peter has been a tremendous contributor to our industry, helping pioneer many achievements in diamond grading and exemplifying a high standard of professionalism, business ethics and a commitment to excellence,” said club President Niveet Nagpal.
The 24 Karat Club also is honoring both Mark Schneider of Mark Schneider Designs and Steve Weiss of Kirk Jewelers with the Excellence in Service Award. This honor is presented annually to jewelers who exemplify the values of the club--social responsibility, integrity and honor--and who have made a significant contribution to the industry.
The award will be given during the club’s 71st Annual Dinner Dance and Gala, held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10 at the Ritz Carlton in Marina Del Rey.
The event is black tie optional. For more information about the event, tickets, or sponsorships, visit the Jewelers 24 Karat Club of Southern California website or contact Marlowe Sutton at info@jewelers24karatclub.com or 310-375-6300.
