The Best Haute Joaillerie Instagram Snaps

The most storied jewelry maisons, and a few powerhouse contemporary brands, showed their most exquisite creations during Paris Haute Couture week.

As Americans celebrate Independence Day, the fashion world across the pond is in the thick of Paris Haute Couture week.

While crafting an item by hand might be exceptional for clothing, it’s nothing new for jewelers. The most storied jewelry maisons, along with a few powerhouse contemporary brands, also show their most exquisite creations during Paris haute couture, via their haute joaillerie collections.

Here is a small taste of the best Instagram posts that document the high jewelry magic.

You won’t currently find Chanel’s latest high jewelry offerings on their Instagram account—they’re dedicated to the clothing hype—so thank goodness for jewelry writers like Ming Liu, who captured the above Chanel bracelet.

Only a video could fully express its significance; the articulated piece is entirely reversible. The collection was inspired by decorative dressing screens from Gabrielle Chanel’s apartment.

Meanwhile, the still image below featuring a necklace from the collection, photographed by jewelry editor for British newspaper The Telegraph Sarah Royce-Greensil, lends a look at the collection’s incredible detail.

Boucheron displayed a daringly lifelike collection of nine flower rings, made of titanium, gold and a milieu of gemstones. Jewelry blogger and journalist Katerina Perez posted the below video, which showcases one of the ring’s full forms.

Rumor has it that the rings were molded from real flower petals. Jewelry blogger Natalie Bos Betteridge of Jewels du Jour shared the below still image showing various styles from the collection.

De Beers produced four mini collections within its latest high jewelry offerings. The below Insta-shot, gleaned from the diamond producer’s own Instagram, shows a necklace from the Celestia collection.

It’s inspired by the romantic notion of tears from the gods, specifically those believed in by Ancient Greeks and Romans. To illustrate this, bezel-set round diamonds give way to pear-shaped stones in the detachable tassel.

For a lover of independent jewelers such as myself, there’s nothing more exciting than seeing an up-and-coming talent in the high jewelry arena.

Ana Khouri has demonstrated her elaborate sense of vision by presenting her work in exciting formats for years. The leading voice in design showed high wattage versions of her signature assymetric ear cuffs in Paris, as photographed by Sophie Quy, head of fine jewelry and watches at personal shopping company Threads Styling and former buyer for Net-a-Porter.
