Neenah, Wis.--Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company has released a new video to help policyholders avoid preventable losses during the shipping process.
Titled “Receiving Like a Pro,” the video is the latest in the company’s Secure Business Series and follows the “Ship Jewelry Safely and Securely” video that Jewelers Mutual released in November.

Some of the tips that Jewelers Mutual recommends in the video include: cross-checking the tracking numbers and packing slips to make sure the right packages are being signed for, rejecting compromised packages, logging incoming packages immediately upon delivery, and dedicating a tidy, well-lit space free of distractions for unpacking of shipments.
“The tips for more secure shipping and receiving are simple, and more importantly, they’re effective,” said Jewelers Mutual’s vice president of loss prevention David Sexton. “When you are dealing with such small components, it’s easy to accidently discard valuable items. These two-minute videos are great teaching tools for jewelers to share with their employees, reinforcing the need for their undivided attention when opening packages.”
Neenah-based Jewelers Mutual is the only insurer dedicated solely to serving the jewelry industry in the United States and Canada, serving both commercial jewelry businesses and jewelry owners.
The company insures 10,000 commercial policyholders, including retail jewelers, wholesalers, manufacturers, custom designers, repair businesses, bench jewelers and appraisers, and more than 300,000 individuals.
