Warwick, R.I--Advanced Chemical will hold its 4th annual John Venditti Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament on Sept. 20, proceeds of which benefit the American Heart Association and academic atheltes.
The event will be held at the Cranston Country Club in Cranston, R.I. It will open with lunch and registration at 11 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m.
The tournament is held in honor of John Venditti, who served as vice president of sales at Advanced Chemical from 1992 until his sudden death in 2010 at the age of 43 from undiagnosed arteriosclerosis. He was a valued employee, a devoted family man and an avid golf player, the company said.
The tournament honors Venditti by supporting heart health and promising scholar-athletes. Proceeds from the event will go to the GianFranco Venditti fund, which donates to the American Heart Association and to scholarships for promising athletes with strong academic results.
“This tournament and the GFV fund embody everything we loved about John, including his energy, generosity, and passion,” said Advanced Chemical President and COO Gerald Smith III. “This event is a tribute to John’s honest spirit, compassion and sincerity.”
Golf players can register individually or as a group of four, and dinner-only tickets are available as well.
More information about the GFV fund and the tournament can be found here.
