New York--Designer Gurhan’s first brick-and-mortar retail store will open in New York City’s TriBeCa neighborhood in January.
The 1,500 square-foot Gurhan Atelier, which will be located at 160 Franklin St., will serve as both a retail store and designer Gurhan Orhan’s personal workshop.
The store will sell the entire Gurhan jewelry collection, comprised of 24-karat gold, silver and platinum pieces as well as a curated selection of one-of-a-kind pieces available for purchase.
The shop will be decorated with personal artifacts from Orhan’s travels with his wife, Fiona, and jewelry will be showcased in unique and unusual display cases handmade by the designer.
In addition, an 8-foot long contemporary bar will offer guests a place to relax with champagne or a cocktail as they learn about the designer or work with him to create jewelry.
“The opening of this atelier will allow me to meet the woman, listen to her dreams and desires, and create a piece of jewelry uniquely suited for her lifestyle,” Orhan said.
The Gurhan brand was founded in 1994 and is currently carried at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, independent jewelry stores and, in a recent development, is sold online.
