Galatea names new Canadian distributor
The company, which recently released a line of “smart” pearl jewelry, has appointed Edmonton, Alberta-based JewelMark Canada as the exclusive distributor of its collections.
San Dimas, Calif.--Galatea has appointed Edmonton, Alberta-based JewelMark Canada as the exclusive distributor of its collections in the Canadian market.
JewelMark Canada CEO Ed Kilbride has sold Galatea jewelry as an independent representative in Alberta and British Columbia since 2013.
Galatea CEO Chi Huynh said that with the company’s growing customer base across the country, the appointment of a local distributor was a logical “next step.”
“The Galatea-JewelMark alliance will bring an experienced and streamlined sales experience to our Canadian customers,” he said.
Founded in 1988, JewelMark Canada employs independent sales representatives throughout Canada and handles the sales, marketing and fulfillment for brands from its Edmonton offices.
Currently it handles Canadian distribution for the Marathon and Benchmark brands throughout the country.
Galatea’s designs of pearl and gemstone jewelry are known for pushing the boundaries when it comes to innovating and creating intriguing new designs.
Most recently, the brand launched the “Momento” pearl collection, a line of fine “smart” jewelry that uses near-field communication (NFC) technology.
A chip embedded into the pearls allows users to record a personalized voice message that can be played when the pearl is tapped against a compatible mobile device.
