Need a colored stone? There’s now an app for that
Colored gemstone dealer Mayer & Watt has released an eponymous app dedicated to loose colored stones, allowing users to browse its inventory and/or use the app for gemstone education.
The Mayer & Watt app was designed for use by both the trade as an educational and sales tool as well as for download by retail clients.
With the app, users can look through the high-resolution photos of the colored stones that the company is offering. Jewelers can contact the company directly for pricing and availability of what they find on the mobile device.
User also can learn about stones from the app’s “Gemipedia,” which explains the specifics of each gemstone with its history, lore and gemology.
It currently is available for free at both the Apple Store and on Google Play.
Mayer & Watt has been importing and wholesaling loose colored gemstones for the past 33 years, first founded in Beverly Hills, Calif., and now located in Maysville, Ky.
