New York--Jewelers of America announced Thursday it has opened the nomination period for the 2019 Gem Awards, the annual jewelry awards ceremony that takes place in New York.
Submissions are being accepted in four categories: Jewelry Design, Marketing & Communications, Media Excellence and Retail Excellence.
Companies and individuals can nominate themselves or others for consideration now through June 22 on the Gem Awards website.
The Gem Awards shine a light on leaders from all aspects of the jewelry industry whose work raises the visibility of fine jewelry and watches and positively impacts consumer confidence.
The 2019 edition of the jewelry awards show is scheduled to take place Friday, Jan. 11, 2019 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York.
The Gem Awards Committee will review the submissions and select the slate of nominees and honorees.
After the three nominees in each category are announced, a panel of industry experts will vote to determine a winner in each of the four categories.
An independent firm then tallies the votes and winners are kept confidential until a live reveal at the jewelry event on Jan. 11.
