AGTA, WJA Partner Again For Spectrum Awards
As part of the collaboration this year, a portion of each Gem Diva Award entry fee will be donated to the Cindy Edelstein Memorial Fund.
Dallas--The American Gem Trade Association and the Women’s Jewelry Association are joining forces for the fifth year to collaborate on the Gem Diva Awards as part of the 2016 summer AGTA Spectrum Awards.
“Cindy was such an important influence in the jewelry design industry and especially for the Gem Diva and AGTA Spectrum Awards,” AGTA CEO Doug Hucker said. “Cindy was part of the AGTA family, and we are honored to be able to recognize her accomplishments within our industry."
Women who enter the Spectrum Awards are automatically eligible for an additional Gem Diva award in four of the categories--bridal, business/daywear, classical and evening wear--and are separately and additionally judged by a panel of WJA design experts.
This is the first time that the awards have been moved to the summer time. The AGTA announced the switch earlier this year, noting that they thought it would make it easier for participants to submit their pieces.
Winners will be announced in July.
For more information about the awards, contact AGTA Marketing Manager Megan Whitmire at megan@agta.org, and for additional information regarding the Cindy Edelstein Memorial Fund, contact WJA Executive Director Bernadette Mack at bernadette@womensjewelryassociation.com.
