Irene Neuwirth among CFDA Award nominees
Irene Neuwirth, Jennifer Fisher and Marc Alary are the nominees in the accessory design category for the 2014 Council of Fashion Designers of America’s Fashion Awards.
Nominated for the Accessories Designer of the Year Award are Alexander Wang, Larazo Hernandez and Jack McCollough for Proenza Schouler, and Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen for The Row, a ready-to-wear handbag and eyewear brand that won the CFDA Fashion Award for Womenswear Designers of the Year in 2012.
A ceremony recognizing the nominees is scheduled for June 2 at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center in New York.
The CFDA is a not-for-profit trade association whose membership consists of more than 400 of America’s clothing, jewelry and accessory designers.
Its Fashion Awards, sponsored by Swarovski, recognize extraordinary design excellence in womenswear, menswear and accessories, as well as accomplishments in journalism, creative vision and lifetime achievement.
Nominees for each award category are submitted by the CFDA Fashion Awards Guild, an invitation-only network comprised of top fashion retailers, journalists, stylists, influencers and the members of the CFDA.
Additional categories in the contest are: Womenswear and Menswear Designer of the Year, Swarovski Award for Womenswear and Menswear, The Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award, Media Award, Founders Award, Board of Director’s Tribute Award and International Award.
