Shinola Just Made a Mickey Mouse Collection
It’s one of a number of brands celebrating the iconic cartoon character’s 90th birthday.

New York—Shinola has unveiled a capsule collection commemorating arguably the most iconic animated character in history.
Shinola x Disney Mickey Classics Collection is comprised of five limited edition watches and other special products depicting Mickey Mouse in honor of the character’s 90th birthday.
The Runwell timepieces, which are celebrating their fifth anniversary, display illustrations of Mickey by Jeff Shelly, Disney’s character artist, made just for Shinola and inspired by iconic Mickey Mouse moments from films like “Plane Crazy” and “Steamboat Willie.”
Each timepiece, of which 90 styles are available, is accompanied by a framed original sketch of Mickey, as well as a Shinola sketchbook.
The collection is rounded out with the Runwell backpack with a special hand-stitched Mickey Mouse applique, as well as a leather tech portfolio, journals, a wall clock and the Runwell Turntable.
Available this month at Shinola and Disney stores, as well as online and at select specialty retailers, the capsule collection starts at $28 for a journal and tops off at $2,800 for the turntable.
Shinola x Disney Mickey Classics Collection is part of the “Mickey the True Original,” project, in which Disney is collaborating with a variety of brands to commemorate the beloved cartoon character.
In the watch world, Swatch partnered with artist Damien Hirst to create two abstract-style Mickey Mouse watches while Citizen, which has a more in-depth partnership with Disney, made eight watches to mark the mouse’s birthday.
“Shinola is a company that believes in celebrating American success stories,” Shinola President Shannon Washburn said in a press release. “We are proud to join Disney in honoring the magic of Mickey Mouse while also commemorating the five-year anniversary of our flagship watch, the Runwell.”
