I'm certainly no stranger to pool parties, but my experience includes more jungle juice and hotdogs than cocktails and shrimp. Quite a nice upgrade.
The watches themselves were showcased in glass cases scattered throughout the shallow pool, forcing party attendees to wade in the water to see the product, which ranged from sporty to diamond-intense. (Another force drawing people into the pool was a bar in the water offering delicious raspberry cocktails.)
Sharapova herself introduced the Professional Sports Watch, Carrera and Formula 1 series standing on a makeshift stage in a chic white dress and purple heels. Her endorsement speech was the only lull in the bystander chitchat.
My favorite of the watches was the Professional Sports Watch, which comes with a pink mother-of-pearl dial, pink silicon strap and silver hand-applied indexes. Besides being cute, it's also practical, a rare combination found in fashion these days.
