New York—Police in a major European city are searching for a suspect wanted for switching cubic zirconia for a large quantity of diamonds at a prominent retail jewelry store.
The police agency asked the Jewelers’ Security Alliance for help identifying the suspect, the organization said in a recent email alert.
Twenty-four diamonds were switched with CZ and stolen, though the total value of the stones is not being released.

The JSA said he spoke mostly English but was using a Russian phone number.
JSA is unable to share any additional information with the public at this time. Anyone with information about this individual is asked to contact them at 212-687-0328 or jsa2@jewelerssecurity.org.
