Stuller Has Announced its 2019 Bench Jeweler Workshop Dates
The annual Battle of the Benches design competition will take place during the two-day event.

Lafayette, La.—Stuller has announced the dates of its annual Bench Jeweler Workshop.
Taking place March 22 and 23 at the manufacturer’s Lafayette, Louisiana headquarters, the event will feature hands-on demonstrations, in-depth training, classes, and networking opportunities.
“Workshop is the ultimate educational and networking event for bench jewelers,” said Tammy Lail, vice president of tools and metals. “This event brings hundreds of bench jewelers together in one place, to learn from each other, as well as industry pros.”
New classes include “Basic Jewelry Sizing” and “Social Media Uncovered”, which aims to answer the when, what, and how of social media strategy.
Stuller gemologist Mike Turner will take attendees on a tour of the Stuller Gem Lab to see the manufacturer’s process of screening and testing for undisclosed lab-grown diamonds. The tour will include a look into its new GIA Melee Analysis Lab as well.
Attendees also can make their way to the demo floor to watch the fourth annual Battle of the Benches.
Reigning champion Patrick Dobbs will face three bench jewelers in a real-time design contest held over both days and comprised of two challenges: parts and pieces and prep and polish.
A winner will be chosen after each day’s event with the overall winner receiving a trophy and a $500 Stuller account credit. The winning piece will be produced and finished by Stuller, then featured on Benchjeweler.com, in From the Bench magazine, and in Stuller social media.
The Bench Jeweler Workshop attendance price is $199 for the first attendee and $169 for each additional attendee. The student rate is $125.
Early-bird rates are available through Feb. 15, 11:59 p.m. CST.
